You Were Promoted for Technical Excellence - Now Your Leadership Reputation Is Being Formed
Engineer Your Leadership is a 6-week course with live coaching that helps new engineering leaders in technical industries build authority, protect their credibility, and become the kind of leader senior executives expand - not quietly sideline.
You’re Working More - And Being Judged Differently
You earned the promotion because you delivered.
Now the expectations have changed.
Meetings take up the day. Your technical work gets pushed into nights.
Your weeks stretch toward 60 hours. The real work starts after the meetings end.
Delegation becomes rework. You stay the bottleneck.
Performance issues linger. The conversations feel high-stakes, so they get delayed.
Former peers test boundaries. Respect is no longer automatic.
The real fear is the label. “Not leadership material.”
The real fear is not failing. It is being labeled early as “not leadership material.”
Your reputation is forming right now - with or without you.
Senior leaders are already deciding how much responsibility you can handle.
Early patterns harden fast.
You were never trained for the leadership job you are now expected to perform.
Stop Managing Tasks - Start Leading People
The Engineer to Leader program closes the leadership skills gap that engineering schools never addressed.
This is not a motivational program.
It is a structured system built from 15+ years of real engineering leadership in defense and chemical manufacturing.
Inside, you will learn to:
Correct performance issues early, without eroding trust.
Delegate authority, not just tasks, without becoming the safety net.
Be seen as leadership-ready by senior decision-makers.
Lead individuals differently, without losing fairness.
Operate as a leader, not the team’s technical fallback.
You stop feeling like an imposter in rooms where you now hold authority.
You enter senior meetings clear on how to contribute - without over-explaining or shrinking.
You handle the conversations you’ve been avoiding with structure and confidence.
And you apply it immediately, inside your current role - even with limited time.

A Leadership System Designed for Analytical Minds
This is a structured 6-week execution process.
Weekly Focus
Clear themes each week so you know exactly what to implement and what to wait on.
Reusable Frameworks
Practical tools for delegation, performance conversations, and decision-making when pressure is high.
Live Coaching
Real-time guidance on actual leadership situations, so you do not guess your way through high-stakes moments.
Lifetime Access
Revisit the material as your team, scope, and responsibilities expand over time.
Applied Exercises
Structured reflection that turns insight into action you can use in your next conversation, meeting, or 1:1.
Peer Cohort
Engineers navigating the same transition, so you can calibrate fast and stop feeling like you are the only one.
Each lesson uses a real leadership scenario, identifies the trap, applies a practical framework, and guides you through a low-risk experiment you execute immediately.
Your 6-Week Engineer-to-Leader Execution Plan
01
Week 1: Leadership Identity
Shift from expert contributor to accountable leader without losing technical credibility.
02
Week 2: Performance Conversations
Address issues early before standards erode.
03
Week 3: Delegation and Ownership
Reduce rework and eliminate bottlenecks.
04
Week 4: Individual Leadership
Hold different engineers to different standards effectively.
05
Week 5: Visibility and Influence
Operate confidently in senior-level discussions.
06
Week 6: Sustainable Leadership Systems
Build habits that reduce overload and move you away from 60-hour work weeks.
By the end of 6 weeks:
You are no longer the bottleneck.
Your team performs without constant correction.
Senior leaders see you as leadership-ready.

This Is For You If:
You are an engineer, technical lead, or new supervisor with 3–10 years of experience.
You were promoted because you were technically strong.
You want to build leadership capability, not just survive the role.
You value performance, accountability, and credibility.
You are willing to treat leadership as a skill that requires deliberate development.
This Is NOT For You If:
You are a senior executive seeking advanced strategy.
You want to remain an individual contributor.
You are looking for motivation without structured execution.
You believe leadership is common sense and does not require disciplined practice.
This Is When Early Engineering Leadership Careers Stall
The patterns you build in your first year shape how you are perceived.
You remain the technical fallback. Not the strategic leader.
Senior leaders hesitate to expand your scope.
High performers disengage or transfer.
Your leadership ceiling forms early.
Promotion velocity slows.
This is not about perfection.
It is about protecting your trajectory.

Why What You’ve Tried Hasn’t Solved It
You likely attempted to solve this already.
Leadership books. Too generic to apply inside engineering teams.
One-day HR workshops. Informational, not transformational.
Copying other managers. Many operate with the same blind spots.
More processes and checklists. Useful for systems, ineffective for people dynamics.
Leadership in engineering is not solved by theory.
It is solved by applying structured frameworks to real human behavior.
This program treats leadership like an engineering problem - hypothesis, test, iterate - not personality change.
The Beliefs That Limit New Engineering Leaders
Myth #1: “It’s too late to change my style.”
Truth: Early patterns are easier to adjust now than later.
Myth #2: “I don’t have time.”
Truth: Structured leadership reduces rework and after-hours corrections. You don’t need more time. You need fewer leadership mistakes creating rework.
Myth #3: “This is just how leadership feels.”
Truth: Chronic overload is not a requirement of the role.
Myth #4: “I’ve tried training before.”
Truth: This is applied, engineering-minded, and coached in real time.
Meet Alex Lee - Founder of Develop Engineers and Former Engineering Director
I’m Alex Lee, an ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC), former Engineering Director, and the founder of Develop Engineers.
For 15+ years, I led engineering teams across defense and chemical manufacturing, and I’ve seen what happens when technically strong engineers step into leadership without the people skills engineering school never taught.
I voluntarily stepped back from program management to restart as a frontline engineer in a new industry, then rebuilt back to the director level, so I understand this transition from every angle.

The Credentials That Back the Work:
ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC).
MBA in Strategic Leadership.
P.Eng. (Professional Engineer).
PMP (Project Management Professional).
15+ years of engineering leadership across defense and chemical manufacturing.
Former Engineering Director leading cross-functional teams.
Former professional women’s motocross rider.
Active consultant on drone systems and AI guidance technology.
IEEE Women in Engineering Industry Experts Network member.
Society of Women Engineers member.
My mission is to close the leadership skills gap in engineering so great engineers can become great leaders without learning everything the hard way.
